All roses are actually edible and their taste varies from one type to the other but basically they taste like strawberries and green apples. The darker the rose is, the more pronounced its flavor.

Lavenders look good in your garden and taste just as good. It has a sweet and floral taste with a hint of lemon and citrus. When you grow it in your garden with the intention of eating it in the future, make sure you do not spray it with any chemicals as that it is culinary unsafe. Lavenders are great for garnishing ice creams and many other desserts.

When growing edible flowers you must not use pesticides. But if it is necessary to spray your flowers then only use pesticides that are labeled specifically for the use of edible plants. Products that are not for edible crops can be very harmful to your health.
