green manureDo you know how to take advantage of free space in your garden? It is very important not to leave the soil of your garden bare.

Rather take good advantage of your garden soil by preparing green manure and improve the soil condition of your garden.

Use the space in between the crops or the empty space in your garden to prepare green manure. Just follow these simple steps:

Step 1: First of all, prepare the soil for green manure by eliminating weeds and dig the soil, if that particular soil has not been used recently for cultivation.

Step 2: Get all the unwanted material from your season’s annual plants and vegetables, then dig the debris into the soil that you’ve prepared for green manure plants.

Step 3: Now scatter the seeds over the surface of green manure soil using over 50g of seed per square meter. Ensure that the seeds make firm contact with the soil by gently tapping the upper surface with the back of spade.

Step 4: Leave the seeds for 2 to 3 weeks for germination.

Step 5: After germination, leave the plants for up to 8 weeks. Before 8 weeks, if the plant starts flowering, cut off the tops and dig them into the soil.

Step 6: Allow the green manure to decompose into the soil for up to 4 weeks. After 4 weeks you can grow vegetables or any other plants in green manure soil.
